On tall cakes this is the difference between one clean sweep and a visible join where two passes met. Care & Use
Loosen the adjuster, wash, and dry both parts separately — buttercream collects in the slide and sets hard. Reset the height on a cold cake before you start, not halfway through. Keep the edge straight; a bent edge cannot be corrected.
